The Yountville Chamber of Commerce is working to be a leader in Workforce Development throughout Napa County. While there are many issues related to workforce in our community the Yountville Chamber is currently working to be a champion in the field of education and employee retention.

Working together with strategic partners throughout the Yountville Chamber of Commerce convenes the
Napa Valley Hospitality Industry Partnership (Napa HIP).

Napa HIP invests in the future of the Napa Hospitality Industry through employer and community collaboration to build a world-class workforce that supports Hospitality growth in the Napa Valley.



NAPA COUNTY CAREER FAIR

The Yountville Chamber in partnership Napa Valley College, Napa HIP, Napa County Chamber Coalition, and Workforce Alliance of the North Bay, runs the Napa County Career Fair yearly. Save the date for our 2024 Career Fair, April 16, 2024.

STUDENT PROGRAMS



HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Napa Valley College is proud to host a Hospitality and Tourism Management Program. Hospitality courses providing a solid base of world-class customer service training, supervisory skills and industry-specific topics. The classes are tailored to meet the needs of enrolled students while teaching the latest trends in the hospitality industry.



WORKFORCE READINESS CERTIFICATE

The Work Readiness Certificate is a three week after school program offered to high school students. Students learn what it means to apply for a job, interview for a job and be ready to join the workforce. At the end of the three-week program students participate in mock interviews with business leaders from the community and are given feedback on their performance.



INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Offered to high school juniors and seniors attending school in Napa Valley Unified School District. Internships are 5 – 8 hours/week for a period of 8 -12 consecutive weeks. Students receive five elective graduation credits, letter of recommendation, mentorship of subject matter and relevant experience to build their resumes.



RESORTING TO OPPORTUNITIES

Resorting to Opportunity is a Summer Mentor Program inclusive of all students including those with special needs and those considered at risk. RTO is a partnership between NVUSD and local Hospitality Resorts. Students spend eight weeks in a rotation between four key departments at a participating hotel learning the day to day operations of each area.

ADULT PROGRAMS



JOB CENTER: CAREERPOINT NAPA

As a publicly funded job center CareerPoint NAPA helps businesses promote and market their open positions, plan recruiting events, screen candidates, access wage subsidy programs, and more. The Hospitality Industry Partnership aka Napa HIP has worked with CareerPoint to host the Napa Hospitality Expo for the last three years.



THE SALVATION ARMY: CULINARY TRAINING ACADEMY

The Napa Valley Culinary Training Academy is the only jobs-training program in Napa County specifically designed to provide employable skills to adults engaged in recovery from addiction, trauma or homelessness—to lessen the likelihood of returning to a harmful lifestyle that is dependent on social services. The Academy offers a path for those who have successfully overcome difficult challenges and are prepared to work toward employment and self-sufficiency.



NAPA VALLEY ADULT EDUCATIION - INTRODUCTION TO CULINARY TRAINING

Adults looking to go into the culinary arts are encouraged to sign up for Introduction to Culinary Training taught through Napa Valley Adult Education. Have you considered taking culinary training or attended cooking school but you’re not sure if it’s right for you? Take the virtual, introductory class where you can learn basic cooking techniques, watch videos, and practice at home using the Rouxbe online learning platform.
