August 2021 Networking Mixer

On Thursday, August 12, 2021, the Yountville Chamber of Commerce hosted its first IN PERSON Networking Mixer since March 2020. The mixer was held at The Pavilion at The Estate. Guest enjoyed specialty cocktails, snacks prepared by The Estate Culinary team, and wines poured by Yountville tasting rooms Handwritten, Hill Family Estates, Hope & Grace, JCB, and Jessup Cellars. Over 200 Business and Associate members mixed and mingled, enjoying each others company after the long break due to COVID.

Mixers are one of the most important networking opportunities the Yountville Chamber of Commerce offers to our members. Mixers give members a chance to meet new people, create business relationships, and explore new places in Napa Valley.

We know it has been a while since anyone has had to network so we have added our tips and tricks for mixers below!

1. Come with someone you know
It can be overwhelming to step into a large group of people and not know anyone. Bring a colleague to ease the first time jitters. We promise – once you attend once, you will know people the next time you attend!

2. Where your name tag
There is nothing more embarrassing than forgetting someone’s name that you have met before! We always provide name tags to help you, and us, remember everyone’s name.

3. Bring business cards
Despite what the internet might have you believe, business cards are still a very important part of doing business. Make sure you bring a stack that you can share with people you meet. Also, be sure to drop your business card into the door prize bucket when you arrive for your chance to win a mixer prize.

4. Register for the event
It is always a good idea to let us know you are planning to attend a mixer! Not only does this assure you a spot if we sell out, it also lets staff think about introductions we can make for you during the event.

5. Have a follow-up plan
Plan to follow up with at least two new contacts after each mixer. “Even if its a simple “nice to meet you” email. This will help to solidify those new relationships you have just created.
