On January 22, 2020 the Yountville, St. Helena, Calistoga Chambers gathered at the CIA at Greystone in St. Helena for their annual “Up Valley Mixer”. Over 300 members, representing over 100 businesses, mixed and mingled in the historic Barrel Room. Where you one of them?
The Yountville Chamber produces 11 mixers a year for our members. Mixers are located at member business each month. Featuring delicious Napa Valley wines and yummy bites. And best of all they are always FREE for members.
Mixers are one of the most important networking opportunities the Yountville Chamber of Commerce offers to our members. Mixers give members a chance to meet new people, create business relationships, and explore new places in Napa Valley.
Not sure what to do at a mixer? Read below for some Mixer 101 Tips!
1. Come with someone you know
It can be overwhelming to step into a large group of people and not know anyone. Bring a colleague to ease the first time jitters. We promise – once you attend once, you will know people the next time you attend!
2. Where your name tag
There is nothing more embarrassing than forgetting someone’s name that you have met before! We always provide name tags to help you, and us, remember everyones name.
3. Bring business cards
Despite what the internet might have you believe, business cards are still a very important part of doing business. Make sure you bring a stack that you can share with people you meet. Also, be sure to drop your business card into the door prize bucket when you arrive for your chance to win a mixer prize.
4. Register for the event
It is always a good idea to let us know you are planning to attend a mixer! Not only does this assure you a spot if we sell out, it also lets staff think about introductions we can make for you during the event.
5. Have a follow up plan
Plan to follow up with at least two new contacts after each mixer. “Even if its a simple “nice to meet you” email. This will help to solidify those new relationships you have just created.
