Every February the Western Association of Chamber Executives holds its annual conference. Conference, as it is called by members, is a chance to learn what is new in our industry, meet fellow chamber professionals, listen to impressive speakers, and talk about where our industry is going.

This year Whitney, Jessica, and Laticia all attended the Conference in Glendale Arizona. We were fortunate to attend Conference with over 300 coworkers from 18 different states and 1 Canadian provenance.

The 2022 theme for Conference was “Moving from Relevant to Essential.” If the last two years have taught us anything it is that our work as the Yountville Chamber of Commerce is more essential than ever. We have worked to keep our community strong through both a pandemic and fires. Conference speakers and breakout sessions gave us the tools to continue to be essential to our community.

The Yountville Chamber of Commerce was well represented as leaders in the chamber industry this year!

Jessica Penman, Director of Community Relations was appointed to the W.A.C.E. Emerging Leaders Council for a two-year term. The Council was formed to identify & recognize future leaders (all under 40) in W.A.C.E. and the chamber of commerce industry.

Elizabeth Hecock, former Director of Membership and Sales, graduated from W.A.C.E. Academy. Academy is a three-year program aimed at providing invaluable training to those in the chamber industry.

And last, but not least, Whitney Diver McEvoy, was appointed as an officer on the W.A.C.E. Board of the Directors and as 2023 conference chair.

The Yountville Chamber staff is looking forward to bringing back everything we learned at Conference to continue to fulfill our mission of enriching the vibrancy of our community!
