This is a valuable opportunity to learn how certification can open doors to exclusive government contracts, increase visibility with public agencies, and provide access to business development resources. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to grow through public contracting, this workshop will provide practical tools and insights to help you take the next step.

This August, we’re proud to spotlight one of our members, the Smith-Kingsmore Syndrome Foundation, in recognition of Rare Disease Awareness Month. The Foundation is committed to advancing research and support for individuals living with Smith-Kingsmore Syndrome (SKS)—a rare genetic disorder caused by mutations in the mTOR gene.

SKS can lead to serious challenges, including intellectual and developmental delays, seizures, autism, extreme sleep disturbances, and limited communication or non-verbal ability.

The Foundation has launched a campaign to raise $120,000 to fully fund a two-year research project at UC Davis, led by Dr. Joanna Chiu. Her lab will use fruit fly models to test FDA-approved drugs with the goal of identifying potential treatments for SKS. This marks the first large-scale drug screening effort for the syndrome and brings new hope to families affected by this complex condition.
