Hi everyone, happy Friday!
August always sneaks up on us. Before we know it, harvest will be in full swing, followed by Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the holiday season. Are we ready? Absolutely not, but this newsletter is full of reasons to get outside and make the most of now. Whether it’s a concert, a wine dinner, or just an excuse for a summer evening with friends, August is here, and so are we.
I also want to introduce something new this month. I’ve gotten so many questions from friends, family members, local residents and new businesses about the Chamber and what we actually do day to day. So I felt it would be interesting to highlight one thing we do behind the scenes with a new section called “Your Membership at Work.” It’s just a small glimpse into what your Chamber is doing. I am trying it out, and would love to receive feedback on what you all think! After all, these newsletters are for you – this fantastic community, our businesses and residents.
I hope you discover something new to experience this month.
Have a wonderful weekend, my dear Yountville!

Here’s something you probably didn’t see last week but benefited from anyway: 34 Chamber Volunteers showed up for their monthly training.
|
|
|
These are the people behind the Welcome Center desk – the ones answering the “Where should we eat?” and “Which winery should we try next?” all day long. Every one of those conversations is a chance for your business to get named first. And that only happens because our Volunteers know who you are and why you’re worth recommending.
Those referrals don’t happen by accident. They come from good information, timely updates, a volunteer who knows your business and the guest standing in front of them. That’s why we get the team together every month – new member updates, upcoming events, what’s changing this season – so what they’re telling visitors is current and accurate. One small meeting, thousands of referrals, and people walking through your door.
So to our Volunteers: thank you. What you give – the hours, the knowledge, the love and care for this community – isn’t something we could replicate. You’re a big reason our businesses get discovered, our town get visited, and guests leave with the best memories.
And to our members: this is one small piece of what your membership supports behind the scenes. Keep an eye out – we’ll keep showing you more!
